New Year, New Adventures. One of my first ones for 2017 is to try to use a Mac for a skunk works project that I am starting this year. The Mac is just a better platform for video and audio editing which I will be doing a bunch of for this project.
Today I unboxed my new Mac Book Pro 2016 model with the highly touted touch bar and touch id. The model I choose cost more than a down payment on a house but it is loaded up. It boasts the following features:
- Touch Bar and Touch ID
- 2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
- 16GB 2133MHz memory
- 2TB PCIe-based SSD
- Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory
- Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
- Backlit Keyboard (English) & User’s Guide
My first mac was a Macintosh computer way back in the early 90’s and I have always had one lying around but never really adapted it for day to day use. In 2017 I am going to try to change that with this macbook. I’ll let you know in about 30 days if I have adopted it for more than the graphic and audio editing that I need to do with it.
